Identity and Credential Validation – Critical for Citizen ID Infrastructure
Globally Citizen ID initiatives cover a significant and growing population of users. National ID cards in Belgium, Italy, Estonia, United Arab Emirates and many other countries have reached deployments in the tens of millions. Credential issuance and identity verification at scale now creates a serious set of requirements for the infrastructure. A strong basis for identity assurance and authentication exists and most programs now look to provide a wide range of logical, physical and device transactions. In order to do this they require an infrastructure to validate credentials across use cases. Validation is important because – not surprisingly – it defines whether a credential is still valid. For effective use validation solutions must provide for a scalable, secure, fast and cost-effective method of determining whether or not you are allowed to do something. Most organizations now understand that they must take a distributed approach to meet the requirements for a robust infrastructure. This presentation will examine methods of validation, Infrastructure models and topologies, and will go a step further in validating credentials along with identity.
