Dr. Khalid alghonaim
Dr. Khalid Al Ghonaim is CEO of Al Elm Company. He was with Al
Elm since 2002. Previously he was full-time adviser to the Ministry
of Defense and Aviation in year 2000-01. Dr Khalid has worked as
Assistant Professor at King Saud University in Faculty of Computer
and Information Sciences and as Teaching Assistant in King Saud
University. He was visiting scholar in University of Sheffield (United
Kingdom) and Carnegie Mellon University (United States). He has
done BS in Computer Engineering from University of King Saud and went for Master
in Computer Engineering and electricity from Carnegie Mellon University. He obtained
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and electricity from Carnegie Mellon University.
Authentication in eServices
Flexibility and extensibility of authentication model used by eServices are essential
factors for success of eServices implementation on a wide scale. Al-Elm as a secure
provider of eServices to a large customer base has strived to implement secure and
easy to use solutions for authentication considering the sensitivity of eServices provided
and the obligation of safeguarding privacy of information. Security code, a simple second
factor authentication that was implementation as a prelude to the current extensible
authentication service ‘Nafath’ used to authenticate all Elm users and extensible to
provide authentication solution to other organizations. Nafath is a dynamic multi-level
authentication solution that manages the authentication base for individuals and can
manage authentication for corporations through delegation of positions to registered
individuals. Transaction authentication in Nafath has the capability to link to multiple
components for authentication including the capability to utilize the National ID Smart
Cards, Biometrics, and national PKI infrastructure.
