National PKI: Opportunities for Government, Industry and Citizens
Across the globe Governments have created opportunities to leverage National
PKI in their e-government, identity, and passport programs. The early trend was
for government to implement the technology prior to defining practical use cases in
support of value propositions; the “technology lead approach”. The result is a fractured
environment where some programs are thriving, and others are languishing. In this
session, Mr. D’Angio will review these successes and failures on a global basis. He will
provide examples of how partnership with industry, standards, business cases, and the
technology have contributed to both strong and weak value propositions. In summary
Mr. D’Angio will provide suggestions for the audience to consider on how to create value
for citizens, industry, and government through its National PKI program.
